Dr. Andrew Maxwell has been an integral part of our effort to provide the best vision and eye care available. Maxwell received a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from the University of West Alabama in 1980 and went on to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received his Doctorate of Optometry in 1984.
Dr. Maxwell is a member of the American Optometric Association, Alabama Optometric Association, and the Southeast Area Optometric Society where he has served as past president.
Dr. Maxwell is a native of Alabama and was raised in the small southwest town of Butler. He is a devoted family man, and he and his wife, Karen, have been happily married since 1985. They have two daughters; Hannah and Lydia. Dr. Maxwell also serves on the Providence Christian School board and is an active member at Mount Gilead Baptist Church where he serves as a Sunday school teacher and elder. He enjoys spending his free time with his family.

The Front Office Clerk is responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative duties in a company including preparing documents, scheduling meetings, and updating company records. The Contact Lens Specialist provides assistance to the Optometrist in providing care to the patient by instructing new contact lens wearers on how to insert and remove contact lenses. The Contact Lens Specialist creates and fits customized contact lenses and recommends a contact lens solution that provides comfort, stability, and clarity the patient needs.
Enter/chart notes into the patient record, providing needed documentation for the Optometrist.
Order and receive contact lens for patients.
Keep up-to-date inventory of contact lens, contact lens solution, etc.
Prepare exam rooms for the Optometrist to perform exams on patients.
Perform doctor requested testing: VA’s, IOP, Color Vision, Visual Field Testing, Fundus camera, OCT.
Provide instruction and training for contact lens insertion and removal to patient.

Understand insurance coverages to submit claims to different carriers.

This position is based in our corporate location in Dothan, Alabama. The candidate would need to live within one hour from this location or relocate near this location. Our Optical Operations Manage would be responsible for supporting optical business operations for all practices within the organization. We currently have 6 locations within Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Ensures the highest standard of patient service and execution in the Optical Department
Support operations standards, strategic priorities, and achievement of financial goals of optical boutiques located inside the associated practices
Assist the office managers in day-to-day relationships inter-departmentally
Provide guidance and functional support to the practices to ensure that the optical boutiques achieve sales and patient-service related goals, primarily measured through key performance indicators
Communicate regularly with office managers to monitor the performance of all company policies, initiatives, programs, and standard operating procedures
Collaborate with management on the training and development of Optical management
Consistently networking, sourcing, and recruiting optical talent working closely with Human Resources to ensure proper staffing levels in all optical departments
Build relationships / partnerships with industry and supplier organizations to collaborate and improve on optical margins and operations
Maintain optical inventory system
Provide guidance and oversight to the organizations’ internal optical laboratory
Oversee and manage performance of managerial staff and address any issues as they arise.
Make sure personnel policies are being followed and relied upon to address performance deficiencies and ensure disciplinary action is being consistently applied across the organization.
Provide guidance to managers related to staff management challenges and problems, and ensure managers are communicating performance objectives to all subordinates.
Resolve any conflicts that may arise within the management staff and provide necessary coaching and discipline where appropriate.
Develop strategies and plans to keep organization staffed at appropriate levels and with necessary skill sets

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or the equivalent years related experience
5 years of supervisory and customer service experience strongly preferred
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
Understands when to route inquiries to next level.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames.
Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team and drive performance improvement, demonstrated by progressive increases in management responsibility.
